Privacy Policy

What This Policy Covers

This policy explains what information TixTracer collects when you use the site, how it's used, and the choices you have. TixTracer helps you search and compare event ticket prices across several ticket marketplaces, and offers optional tools to bookmark events, see price history, and receive email alerts when a price reaches a target you set.

Information We Collect

We collect only what's needed to make the features you actually use work:

• Bookmarks: when you star an event, it's saved in your own browser (local storage), not on our servers.
• Price alerts: if you set up a price alert, we store the event's name, date and link, the price when you saved it and its currency, your target price, the email address you provide and a random ID for your browser (so only you can change or remove your alert). The first time you use an address we send one message asking you to confirm it, and alert emails start only after you do. We use the email address solely for that confirmation and your alerts, don't use it for marketing and don't share it with anyone else. Every email has a link that deletes your alerts and stops further email to that address. We keep a note of an address that unsubscribes, so nobody can sign it up again. Your browser also remembers the address so you don't have to retype it.
• Location: if you allow it, your browser shares your location so we can show events near you. Your browser rounds the coordinates to about a kilometer before sending them to our server, which uses them to search the marketplaces. To show your city's name, your browser also sends a slightly finer location (rounded to about 100 meters) directly to OpenStreetMap's Nominatim service. If you type a city instead, the city name is sent to Nominatim to look up its coordinates. You can decline location access and enter a city manually.
• Recent searches and locations: stored locally in your own browser (not on our servers) so you can quickly repeat a past search, along with saved city coordinates, display preferences and a few app settings.
• Basic technical logs: standard web server logs (like IP address and request timestamps) generated automatically by hosting infrastructure, used only for debugging and security, not for tracking individuals.
• Usage analytics: we use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used in aggregate. That covers which pages get visited (including the search, city and event shown in the page address), roughly where visitors are located, and how often people click through to a ticket marketplace (when you do, it records which marketplace, the event's name and the price shown). Google Analytics sets cookies and collects a device identifier and IP address. We use this to improve the site, not to identify you individually, and we don't combine it with your email or tracked events.

What We Don't Do

• We don't require an account or password to use TixTracer.
• We don't sell, rent, or share your personal information with advertisers or data brokers.
• We don't run ads, and we don't use advertising trackers, ad networks, or retargeting pixels. We do use Google Analytics for aggregate usage measurement, described above and below. That's analytics rather than advertising, and we have not enabled Google's advertising or remarketing features.
• We don't process payments or handle ticket purchases directly. When you buy a ticket, you're redirected to the ticket seller's own site, and their privacy policies govern that transaction.

Third-Party Services

To show you ticket prices, TixTracer sends your search terms (like an artist name or city) and, if you've shared it, your approximate location to the marketplaces it compares: Ticketmaster, SeatGeek and TicketNetwork. None of those requests includes your name or email. When you click through to buy a ticket, you leave TixTracer and interact directly with that site under its own privacy policy and terms. Partner marketplaces (TicketNetwork, through its affiliate network Impact, and TicketSqueeze) may set their own cookies when you click through, so the sale can be credited to TixTracer and, for TicketNetwork, so your discount applies.

TixTracer also relies on: Render, which hosts the site and its database (Render carries traffic over Cloudflare’s network for security and delivery, so Cloudflare handles every request, including your Internet address); an email delivery provider, which sends price alert emails; OpenStreetMap Nominatim, for turning locations into city names; and Google Fonts, which serves the site's fonts (your browser requests them from Google). Event pictures load directly from Ticketmaster's and SeatGeek's servers, so your browser contacts those sites when the pictures appear.

TixTracer is aimed at visitors in the United States. It doesn't track you across other sites, so it doesn't act on Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signals; the analytics described above run unless your browser or an extension blocks them.

We use Google Analytics (provided by Google LLC) to measure site usage. Google processes this data under its own privacy policy, which you can read at policies.google.com/privacy. If you'd rather not be included, Google publishes a browser opt-out add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout, and browser extensions or settings that block trackers will also stop it from loading.

Data Storage & Retention

Price alerts, including the email address, are stored in a database on our server until you remove the alert, and are deleted automatically shortly after the event takes place. Alerts that are never confirmed are deleted after a week. We keep a visitor's Internet address in the server's memory to limit how fast anyone can search or save alerts: for a few minutes in most cases, and for up to a day, together with the email address, when a new address is signed up for alerts. Bookmarks, recent searches and display preferences are stored only in your browser's local storage and never reach our servers; clearing your browser data removes them.

Data Security

We take reasonable steps to protect the information TixTracer stores, but no website or internet transmission is ever completely secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security.

Your Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

• See what information we have connected to a tracked event or alert
• Correct inaccurate information
• Request deletion of your information
• Withdraw consent, where applicable

California Privacy Notice

California residents may have additional rights under California privacy law, including the right to know, delete, and correct personal information. TixTracer may not meet the legal thresholds that make the CCPA/CPRA fully applicable, but we'll honor a reasonable privacy request from anyone who sends one.

Children's Privacy

TixTracer is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from them.

Changes to This Policy

If this policy changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of TixTracer after a change means you accept the updated policy.
